Top Ten Safety Trends

3/22/12 12:14 PM

A white paper was recently released by Miller Pierce titled the "Top Ten Trends in the Safety Industry" which while brief is extremely informative and a nice read that we highly recommend to you. Many of these trends are related to our mission at TSG and are addressed in the way we conduct business everyday.

- Trend #5: "PPE brands and styles are frustrating to re-order", which is why we developed iToolCrib and the My iToolCrib feature which makes re-ordering fast and easy.

- Trend #6: "Customers are clamoring for value-added services from their suppliers", whether it is VMI, JIT, or long-term inventory planning, TSG is always looking for ways to add value to your supply chain.

- Trend #7: "Safety Directors...rely heavily on manufacturers and distributors for knowledge transfer".  At TSG, we are happy when we are called in to look at your PPE concerns.  We understand your industry and know our products and can make informed recommendations to keep those OSHA recordables (see Trend #10) from ever happening.

- Trend #9: "Just-in-time PPE supply is critical", which is why we keep an extensive inventory of PPE in our Plymouth, CT warehouse.  Many of our customers run "lean" operations and follow the Six Sigma model which we embrace.  We have reduced customer inventories, reduced lead times to hours instead of days and in emergency situations our deliveries have been on trucks within minutes!

These are just 4 of the top ten trends so take a look at the rest of the paper and let us know what you think but posting your comments below!
